Spring Summer Print frenzy 2012
Prints are always going to be on trend each season the question is what kind of prints are on trend this season. From washy pastel light toned prints to clashy bold prints, they have been all over the runway for s/s 2012. One of my all time favourite designers Mary Katrantzou really stood out amongst the crowd this season with their strong busy unique prints. What I loved about what they did was the variety of prints used on one garment really contrasted against the others creating a quite unique look but they still managed to keep the garments wearable with their use of color and simple tailoring. illustrations/images used on the garments included metal drums, bolts, car parts and tin cans met cherry blossoms, fields of flowers, coral and other marine life – all on a single dress.
In saying that going the other way their where some really beautiful romantic pastel prints showcased also by designer Versace. I am an enormous fan of Versace they couldn’t go wrong in my books. So s/s 2012 for them showed a gentler side to their brand, with soft sweet pastel colour shades mixed with very elegant, ladylike silhouettes they‘ve got it right. The illustrations/images on the actual prints where very summery indeed containing starfish and seashell embellishments and studded seahorse shapes enough to drive anyone to the beach or even the pool side.
So taking inspiration from the print trend I produced my s/s scarf collection.
In keeping with my line of 1940‘s inspired dresses, I had to add my signature spitfire design, mixing my print with the bright colours I love to use and are on trend. I also used bright florals for a beautiful summery look that will update any look and match in with any outfit with their variety of colours as well as being totally unique! Each scarf is only printed once, so you’re getting a one of a kind piece that everyone will admire. My scarves have even been showcased in Belfast Fashion Week, which provides a look into the peak of the most fashionable items to have as part of your collections this summer, a Nor Lisa scarf is defiantly one to have!
All of my scarves can be purchased for only £45, for the perfect item to complement any outfit! Getting a taste of a designer brand, at the top of this seasons trend, for just a fraction of the price

Katie Larmour : Belfast Fashion Week
Words can not discribe how happy I was when Katie told me she was going to wear one of my avant-garde digital print dresses to host the friday night at Belfast Fashion Weeks TV. Along with a cute Pluck and Devour (www.pluckanddevour.com) necklace and a glamous pair of nude heels.
The dress that Katie wore was from my first ever collection, and was an extenstion of my fashion and textile final year degree collection that I had graduated from the previous June. Orginaly this dress had been submitted in the previous Belfast Fashion Week as a part of my A/W collection but was over seen by my more wintery toned garments. When Katie worn it this season everyone started to approach me thinking that it was from my current S/S collection. Im not sure why people are only taking intrest of this dress only now, It could be because people have seen how beautifully katie pulled it of, could be because the colours are more relavant to this season or maybe its because I have more fans now than I would have at the previous Belfast Fashion Week. The following images are how the dress was previosly shown.
With katie wearing my dress so beautifully it was no surprise when images of katie wearing the Nor Lisa dress started to pop up everywhere. One of the ones katie personailly linked me to was the coverage by the fantastic Sugahfix.com. Now I have previously been feature by this website before but what got me so excuited this time was that for the first time one of my garments featured as the main image. So I would like to thank the Sugahfix team for this, and for their continuing support on up and coming local designers <3
A little bit about the dress. This dress is called the cloud dress, the story behind it is basically was to tie in with my spitfire ww2 theme it was a pilots view from a spitfire. It was designed by myself on photoshop from a image I painted and scanned in, it was then digitally printed. Every print I do will always be slightly differnt to insure that it remains unique. The fabric is a very expensive high quailty silk chiffon as I always use the best fabrics and materials to create my garments.
Lastly I would like to thank Katie. When I first met Katie the first thing I noticed about her was her big friendly personaliy she is such a nice person and is a pleasure to work with. She worn the Cloud dress with grace and elegant, she really gave it juctice. I cant wait to work with Katie again which will be very soon so watch this space <3

Fresh Start
Having
done the whole "Blogging" thing before many moons ago ending in
getting swiftly bored I have now decided to give it another whack. The
reason for this isn’t because I have nothing to do as anyone that knows me will
tell you that this is not the case, It is simply because I thought it was about
time I gave my Fans and dear Friends an insight into the World of Nor Lisa.
I don’t want to madly bore everyone with a number of events that have happened to me since Nor Lisa was Born so along with my everyday post I will include what I’ve done on that said day, future events and one past event <3
So I’m beginning with my experience with Belfast Fashion Week this season S/S 2012.
This season was all about the pastels/pales in my option which was bang on trend, so of course being my usual self I decided to go the other way with Brights of course! The reason for this was because I wanted my collection to stand out from the crowd not to blend in and get lost with everyone else’s plain simple garments. In saying that it was a very risky move on my behalf, Firstly because it reduced the chance of me being used in trend shoot for media and secondly because I feel especially in Belfast consumers tend to purchase whatever they are told is on trend that season. Did it pay off you ask? Il let you decide with my bright yellow clashy printed final piece which follows.......
The Following image is a prime example of how my collection stands out from the crowd especially in the media.
The models as usual were great, in particular I Loved Jenny Curran I really do believe that the girl couldn’t look bad if she tried! I wouldn’t say I’m an expert on hair and makeup so I won’t go too much into it but for my collection I felt I would have preferred a more clean/fresh look instead of the washed out strange look they went for as it was S/S but I totally understand why they chose it as they tend to make the designers night look more "edgy “compared to the other nights.
The set design and hype leading up to the show was very well put together. I felt that on the night it was ran very professionally and there was a great buzz from the audience. I would have liked better seats as my friends and I couldn’t see allot from where we sat but that taught me to book mine early next time. Cathy Martin and her team and the really do know how to put on a good show and I was very well helped and treated this season coming up to the show, So many thanks to all of the team that dealt with me <3
And lastly I could go without giving a mention to my partner in crime on the night. The very talented Uniquely Different Jewellery! I really felt that their pieces really did set off and complete my garments. Their jewellery is very glamous yet affordable so check them out on the following link. http://www.facebook.com/MyUniquelyDifferent
Thanks Guys for reading my first new blog post :) feedback on the show, my s/s collection or even on this blog are muchly appreciated <3
