New Opening - The Bees Knees Cafe Enniskillen Review

It is always great to see new local independent businesses opening in the town centre and "The Bees Knees Cafe" is no exception.  Based at 37 Townhall St Enniskillen on the corner unit across the road from First Trust bank this trendy cafe really brings something new to the town.  The interiors are a lovely balance of chic + trendy but also inviting.  The warm colour tones and plush fabrications make for a lovely cosy space.  Staff are very polite and welcoming as well as well groomed which is always a plus in my eyes.  We opted for some hot drinks and nibbles as we had only popped into town with the newborn to sort out some paper work in our shop.  The hubby had one of his favourite desserts which was a tasty, perfectly baked handmade apple tart with cream paired with an americano coffee.  I went for a well brewed afternoon tea and the best caramel square tray bake I have ever tasted.  In regards to their full menu I can't wait to come back and try a full meal as their food choices are very much to my taste (Scroll down to see full menu).  I really believe this quirky new cafe brings something new to the town with a menu unlike their rivals.  Pop over to their facebook page for competitions and updates (Link Below).

New Vegan/Vegetarian Restaurant Happy Tapas Enniskillen Review

Last night we were invited to come along and try a new, fresh dining experience in enniskillen.  "Happy Tapas"is a vegetarian/vegan tapas bar situated next door/owned by popular cafe "The Happiness Trap".  Although the bar currently doesn't have an alcohol license you are welcome to bring your own bottle or they supply a wide range of non alcohol beverages also.

Outfit
Dress - Harry + George Enniskillen
Bag - Louis Vuitton Speedy B 30
Shoes - Vivienne Westwood

The atmosphere on arrival is carefree, friendly and welcoming which is always inviting to have when being greeted on arrival.  The decor is a mix of chic meets eclectic.  Soft bohemian vibes meet hard rustic textures to provide a truly captivating layered experience.  If you like music, Italian, artistic, rustic inspired spaces this place is for you.

One of the highlights of the evening was how helpful and polite both the staff were.  We were interested to see what they would recommend so it was explained to us that the chef was Italian and which items on the menu are inspired by her culture.  Due to the suggestions we opted for some breaded aubergine balls served with a tomato sauce (not on menu replacement of veggie meatballs) which is something we would never have even considered, we were delighted to find they were full of flavour and the soft smooth filling contrasted well with the crispy coating.  Thank you to the staff for making our experience so memorable.

What we ordered to share between two (As show in Pictures Above)
Devils Bread with sweet chilli - £3
Tomato Bruschette - £4
Garlic + Thyme Chips - £4
Breaded Aubergine Balls with tomato sauce (not on menu replacement of Veggie Meatballs) £7
Deep Fried Brie + Halloumi with maple Syrup - Two portions £8 each X2 = £16
Total - £34

Devils bread was crispy with a slight chilli heat without being too much.  The tomato bruschetta was my least favourite due to personal preference, the bread was fresh/soft with freshly chopped tomatoes, I personally prefer more garlic/basil flavour to my bruschetta with a toasted base. The Garlic + Thyme chips had a beautiful flavour and texture to them, one of our favourite dishes we experienced although we did expect to have ordered more of a traditional crispy chip shape but they were more like soft cubed potatoes something to bare in mind when ordering.  Last but not least the best dish was the Fried Brie + Halloumi, the outside coating had a crispy texture which paired beautifully with the gooey Morish centre - 5* for this dish which ranked along with top restaurant experiences I have had previously.

In summary I think this bar is a lovely new addition to the town as we don't have anything quite the same.  Its providing more options for vegans/vegatarians instead of one additional dish on a menu like most other places.  The carefree relaxed environment makes a great spot for an after work tipple and some nibbles with the girls.  It offers a more healthily approach to eating out for people who want to expand on different flavours.

Belfast Fashion Week SS 2019 Launch - Best Dressed Top Ten

Sadly this year I missed the Launch of Spring Summer Belfast Fashion Week due to our shop being extremely busy and I just couldn't get away. Luckily the team have sent me over the press release with social shots and I've put together some of my top looks. Hopefully I will make it to some of the shows but until then check out some of the hot gossip below.

Press Release
Belfast FASHIONWEEK officially launched its 27th season today (31st January) with a fabulously fashionable affair in Panama Café, Belfast.
The popular event will kick off at the spectacular St Anne’s Cathedral on 29 March - a direct clash with Brexit, should it happen! Director Cathy Martin said today at the launch that Fashion Week will provide much needed relief from the stress and anxiety that Brexit seems to have bought – both to the retail industry and for shoppers alike.
As well as the main ‘Runway Edit’ show at St Anne’s, there will also be a mixture of fashionable fringe events across the weekend including the popular Sushi Saturday at Asian eatery Zen, where guests can experience an intimate catwalk show showcasing the top picks from across BFW whilst enjoying a delicious meal.
Speaking about this season’s key trends, FASHIONWEEK Director Cathy Martin commented: “The easiest way to energise your wardrobe this season? Take to tailoring in joyful tutti frutti shades!”
“We have a whole host of new local talent involved this season including; Alexandria’s Baby Boutique, Saraden Designs, Bernadette Anderson, Jacki Sleator, The Fashion House and Verona Bridal, as well as some of the biggest names on the High Street and staples like Blush Boutique - who have taken part in BFW since season one - we can’t wait to show off the latest trends in the ultimate celebration of fashion – a must have in any stylista’s diary!"

Style Spotting

Cathy Martin - Owner Belfast Fashion Week
Cathy looks like she was born in purple with this Topshop silky snakeskin look.  I appreciated the colour blocking River Island boots with a statement creise pink lip.  Sleek yet Statement.
Photographer - Paul Osmonde

Melissa Riddell -Blogger/Cool FM Presenter
Melissa looks like she just stepped out of the print studio and I am here for it.  This mix of tie dyed denim with a curly blow out and stiletto boots equals just the right amount of sleek with a hint of punk.   Melissa really rocks this hard to pull off look.

Emer Dooris - Blogger Emer D Blog
Emer showcased a soft 70s bohemian look.  The lace dress with suede boots added right amount of texture to give depth to the outfit.  I love the optimistic sunglasses to  add a hint of Spring/Summer.

Gina Potter - Print Designer
Gina also decided to rock a classy punk outfit.  The tailored trousers and cut of the jacket gives a more modern/mature take on a classic punk look.  They tie together the clashing prints and textures well.    Tee designed by Gina Potter - Scarf Vintage Missoni.

Katie Andrew - Blogger Katie  Andrew The Blog
Katie goes wild in a Topshop zebra print two piece.  The emerald toned green gives a new take on animal print and it also compliments her colouring perfectly.

Louise Vance - Blogger The Real Elle Woods
Louise uses any excuse to show off her extravagant Giuseppe Zanotti boots and the amount of jealously I have it limitless.  She styled this plum toned look with a floaty chiffon blouse and matching sunglasses to add just the right touch of spring/summer.

Mariam Koczarian - Stylist/MUA
Marian looks like she just walked out of the front row at a Chanel show in the best way possible.  Ive
always really admired Marians style for being bold/dramatic and this look is no exception.

Trazanne Norwood - Photographer/MUA
Trazanne wore a very classic and chic layered looked.  To me this look protrayed a French/Italian
vibe and I enjoyed how she mixed different textures but keep a restricted colour palette.
Trazanne also wore a Tee designed by Gina Potter.

Aisling Gallagher - Blogger GalsGoss
Aislings head to toe Topshop outfit stood out for all the right reasons.  She was the only person to opt for a stunning camel coat paired with a more fitting light toned combo underneath.  This is a great season transition look.

Chloe Henning - Model
My favourite part of Chloe's look of course has to be the Gucci Dionysus bag as I'm a massive Gucci fan especially the classic prints shown on this bag.  Secondly the way her leather trousers blend perfectly into her leather shoes is exquisite.  One of the best looks from the event hands down.
